Indoor navigation simulator

About the Project

Research Goal: Analysis of the usability of navigation and location applications during room searches in complex buildings.

Application: The findings from the research will help develop more intuitive signage and systems supporting indoor navigation in public buildings (shopping malls, hospitals, airports).

Study duration: 15-30 minutes

Methodology: The participant uses a simulator to navigate a digital twin of an existing building. The goal is to reach the specified room as quickly as possible using a navigation application. The system records the participant's path, time to reach the destination, and the navigation hints used, allowing for comparison of the effectiveness of different navigation methods.
